Sometimes Whit’s end or perspective on something is the insight that comes from dear saints who are living like Jesus and experiencing the Holy Spirit wherever they are. One of our staffers, Ms. Heather Allen, sees Jesus everywhere (and we do, too, as we see the world through her eyes from time to time). With her permission, I wanted to share this wonderful story with you, and I hope it encourages you as it did me…
From Heather:
Sometimes God shows you things, important things.
Here’s why our 2 flights were canceled.
Uli and Kathleen ♥️

Uli and Kathleen, celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary!
After 14 hours of trying to get to NYC, we met them.
They’re from Oregon, had been traveling for 18 hours and needed to be in Chattanooga for a cruise down the Tennessee River. The 5 of us overheard their conversation, and our hearts simply dropped.
These two, about to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary, no longer had a guaranteed seat on a flight in time to make it to their boat in time. That’s when we realized what was about to happen and why we were stuck in an airport next to them.
They were going to get to Chattanooga in time. After saying we’d just all rent a van and go on a new adventure, our wonderful Nanette stepped in told them she was going to drive them there and still make it back for her rescheduled flight to NY. The rest of us had the honor to spend time learning all about these two.
I could say a million things, but all I can say that really matters is that I’ll never forget their eyes. I always tell people one of the best and most meaningful reasons to travel the world is to see Jesus in the eyes of other people.
I will forever be thankful for these two, for the story they shared with us, for their humility and grace and for what 70 years of an incredible marriage and true love story looks like.
Thank you, Uli and Kathleen. You both have helped my heart grow deeper and wider. And, guess what? God knew I needed that more than I needed to get to New York on time. The 5 of us are forever thankful.
